Recap of
The
1st Annual
Clackamas County Lavender Festival 07

at the Oregon Lavender Farm

Observing The Distillation

It was with great anticipation and an equal amount of anxiety that we approached the opening of the Oregon Lavender Farm to the public after 8 years of preparation.

A week before the festival many loose ends remained to be resolved, the least of which was the prediction of rain on the day of the event.  It showered throughout the day before the festival.  All we could do was to look at the bright side, knowing rain was better before, than during, and that moisture would keep the dust down.

The morning revealed an absolutely glorious calm day   with a beautiful blue sky, and a warm, but not too 75 degrees.

The festival began with a perfect distillation of hand harvested lavender.  The aroma permeated the air and noses of observers and wafted throughout the garden and festival grounds for hours.

All told, approximately 3000 visitors came and enjoyed the fragrance and beauty of the field.

Truly a festive affair!
